چکیده

A major and growing concern within society is the lack of innovative effective solutions to mitigate challenge environmental pollution. Uncontrolled release pollutants into environment as a result urbanisation industrialisation staggering problem global concern. Although, eco-toxicity nanotechnology still an issue debate, however, nanoremediation promising emerging technology tackle contamination, especially dealing with recalcitrant contaminants. Nanoremediation represents approach for safe sustainable remediation persistent organic compounds such pesticides, chlorinated solvents, brominated or halogenated chemicals, perfluoroalkyl polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), heavy metals. This comprehensive review article provides critical outlook on recent advances future perspectives technologies photocatalysis, nano-sensing etc., applied decontamination. Moreover, sustainability assessment was taken consideration tackling legacy contamination special focus health impacts. The further outlines ecological implications consensus recommendations use better present future.

Sustainable remediation: electrochemically assisted microbial dechlorination of tetrachloroethene-contaminated groundwater

Microbial electric systems (MESs) hold significant promise for the sustainable remediation of chlorinated solvents such as tetrachlorethene (perchloroethylene, PCE). Although the bio-electrochemical potential of some specific bacterial species such as Dehalcoccoides and Geobacteraceae have been exploited, this ability in other undefined microorganisms has not been extensively assessed. Hence, t...
